Job Description


KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Workshop Manager position.

Responsibilities

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, organize and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Workshop Section, control the quality of repairs and maintenance to ensure customer satisfaction, and implement safety and health standards, while maintaining company policy and procedures.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and manage service workshop repair and maintenance activities in ways that support the business plan of the After-sales Business Unit.
  • Ensure that workshop repair and maintenance activities are implemented according to plan, operational policy, procedures and Isuzu standards.
  • Ensure that all required resource such as parts, materials, labor are available to complete scheduled repair and maintenance works.
  • Ensure that workshop service facility is organized according to the Isuzu standards, and at the lowest cost possible.
  • Ensure that customers are satisfied at the services they receive at all times.
  • Supervise all workshop activities, especially technical issues that affect the quality of the service and thereby the satisfaction of customers.
  • Forecast and order spare parts for repair and maintenance activities or for stock replenishment.
  • Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair and maintenance job and provide necessary direction to speed up any delayed activities.
  • Assess and evaluate performance of the service workshop and take necessary measure to improve facility efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Set performance targets for the repair/maintenance workshop and the body shop and follow through to ensure its implementation.
  • Follow up repair order; register the time taken to complete each job order.
  • Ensure effective implementation of 5S and other health, safety and environment standard within the service workshop.
  • Ensure upkeep and maintenance of the service workshop facility.
  • Ensure that the workshop facility is managed properly to create a conducive and business-like work environment that will be liked by both employees and customers.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisal periodically to evaluate how well employees have completed their duty and to take any needful action accordingly.
  • Prepare workshop performance reports for submission to the Aftersales Business Unit Director.

Job Requirements

Qualification : Diploma or BSc in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering

Work Experience : 10 years for Diploma, and 8 years for BSc graduate in relevant role

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Vehicle Parts, Services and customer orientation
    Computer skill, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Good skills in computer applications
