Report to: KasmoDev Consulting Director

Location (Duty station): Somali Region, Liban Zone: Dolo Ado & Bokolmayo Wereda

Employment Type: Temporary (6 months)

Job Summary

Accompany through training & coaching the 5-steps corporate governance learning journey towards a ‘share farming’ arrangement of agricultural cooperatives in Dollo Ado and Bokolmayo woredas specifically Buramino, Hilaweyn,Kole,Kobe and Melkadida Kebels (members and management teams), towards a co-grafted sustainable agribusiness. The training and coaching will be based on the following 5-steps governance learning journey paving the way for a solid foundation for: 1. a shared understanding of corporate governance as foundational to business sustainability to 2. a shared understanding of roles and responsibilities, 3. of a vision for future governance (Cooperatives, Union, Farm Management Company) and 4. associated operational documents, paving foundations for 5. sustainable, inclusive governance and adequate record keeping for enhanced business bankability.

The position would involve direct engagement with cooperative farmers, training, coaching and data collection. The incumbent would be based in Dollo Ado and Bokolmanyo weredas specifically Buramino, Hilaweyn, Kole, Kobe and Melkadida Kebeles for a six-month assignment.

Key Tasks:

Trainer and Coach

  • Train and coach farming cooperatives on bylaw and governance.
  • Support cooperatives run their daily management tasks
  • Support cooperatives on proper documentations
  • Mentor the farmers in good governance

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Education: Ideal candidate has a BA in social science and other related subjects
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 2-year experience working in the field of coaching, training, inclusive communication, and community engagement.
  • Technical skills: Public speaking, lecturing, training, mentoring, and coaching Applicants should be proficient in their computer skill including Msoffice and using emails for communication

Languages: Proficiency in Somali/Maymay and English is required. Knowledge or proficiency of other local languages is an advantage.
