Job Description


SAMANU represents group of companies which are engaged in the business of manufacturing consumer-focused products in Ethiopia. Today these companies manufacture well-known brands for the Ethiopian market including Tena Oil, 555 and Aura Soap, Chef Luca Pasta and AquaSafe Mineral water from their facilities.

Job Summary

The trade marketing Manager’s role is to coordinate the execution of market initiatives between the Marketing and sales departments, execute initiatives across all retail channels, monitor brand performance in the trade, and improve visibility and presence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish channel strategies along with executing associated plans.
  • Developing and executing the Trade Marketing Plan in line with sales and marketing objectives and managing the Trade Marketing budget.
  • Improving brand presence and campaign execution across trade through excellence in in-store planning, execution, and tracking in alignment with the annual marketing priorities
  • Leading and implementing channel-specific marketing strategies and plans for assigned retailers
  • Conceptualizing and executing trade promotions and rolling out impactful in-store campaigns in collaboration with marketing and sales teams
  • Leading activation programs with partners to improve brand visibility
  • Visiting the points of sale regularly to ensure that the brand is visible, and guidelines are respected.
  • Lead retail channel’s trade marketing strategy development to accomplish defined business objectives throughout product categories.
  • Prepare trade promotion plans with main customers.
  • Monitoring and communication of pricing and competitive analysis on a weekly basis
  • Develop, supervise, and improve procedures to link entire marketing activities with sales team activities.
  • Coordinates activities associated with organization participation at tradeshows or events.
  • Manage and lead a merchandizer’s team activities including their daily, weekly, and monthly activities with an alignment of the sales and marketing team
  • Plan and manage all POS materials needed and order
  • Manage trade offers and incentives with the collaboration of the marketing team
  • Plan, and develop Trade Marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness in the retail channel and to achieve consumer’s top choice
  • Assess launch success & prepare closing reports for major launches.
  • Develop yearly promotional plans on the brand level & country level in line with brand guidelines, Sales feedback as well as shoppers’ insights.
  • Manage Trade Marketing budget efficiently & ensure cost policies are applied having in mind optimization between quality & price.

Requirements

COMPETENCIES:

  • Marketing experience of at least 2 to 3 years in FMCG brand management
  • Sales experience of at least 2 to 3 years including managing a sales team
  • Ability to understand market execution requirements
  • Deep understanding of the retail environment dynamics, Wholesalers, Retailers, and modern trade
  • Leadership skills but also the ability to find solutions and alternatives to land his activities on time
  • High level of energy and ability to motivate others;
  • Ability to negotiate and develop excellent relations with its peers and suppliers
  • In-depth understanding of Ethiopian consumers and habits
  • Team Player: Able to influence and work in multi-functional teams;

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED : MBA Degree graduate in Marketing and Business Management or Equivalent

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years in Marketing/Sales FMCG
