JR Petroleum PLC is engaged in selling and marketing petroleum and related products. Currently, JR Petroleum has more than 42 active stations across the country, Moreover, it is building the largest Aviation Depot in the country within the premises of Bole Addis Ababa Airport, to supply Jet fuel to Ethiopian Airlines which is expected be operational within a couple of months.

Summary

We are looking for a qualified and motivated “IT Technical & Application Support Officer” to install, maintain and repair computers and networks. In addition, required to lead financial system implementation project liaises with the supplier of the software and provide first hand support to users.

The Job involves

• Setting up and installing new hardware and software systems. Maintaining hardware and software by conducting regular Diagnosing and troubleshooting computer& printers’ issues.
• maintenance and updates.
• Identifying and resolving network, connectivity, and server issues.
• Upgrading firmware, software, and outdated hardware systems. Monitoring and maintaining security systems and installing updates.
• Providing technical support to users and resolving technical errors.
• Performing regular tests, upgrades, and backups.
• Preparing technical documents, such as error and maintenance reports.
• Creating user documents and providing training on new computer systems.

Job Requirements

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as computer technician or similar role. Good working knowledge of computer systems, including networks, servers, and system maintenance
• Experience with LAN/WAN networks Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Very good communication abilities Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field

Experience

• At least three-year experience in hardware maintenance and network installation in a well-known organization.
• Leading IT project experience is preferred.
• Having a knowledge of any financial system is advantageous.
