Overall Function

• To teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by the SIS Secondary Curriculum Framework;
• To teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his/her care by the Head of Secondary Division or Head of years.
• Prepare subject-specific lessons in different areas of mathematics. Provide subject instruction on a higher level than grade standard, in an interactive learning environment and deliver exceptional results for all students. Implement SIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to ensure students’ education is at an internationally competitive level.
• Collaborate with other SIS International teachers to form a community of smart, talented, and interesting people who are passionate about education and readily willing to work in a professional, academic environment.
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to heighten the trajectory of students’ academic and career success.
• Possess a creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom. Present excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills in order to work collaboratively with staff, students, and Parents. Have studied full-time and produced degree transcripts from the university they attended.
• Be fully vaccinated and submit a COVID-19 vaccination certificate

Main Responsibilities

• Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subject;
• Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to all students in the class;
• Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities, and achievement of the individual students and groups of students;
• Adopting and working towards the implementation of the school curriculum development plan;
• Assigning work, correcting, and marking work carried out by his/her students;
• Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, attainment, and behavior of one’s students;
• Co-operating with the Head of Secondary Division, Head of Years, Head of Department, and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programme, methods of teaching and assessment, and pastoral care arrangements;
• Participating in staff, group, or other meetings related to the school curriculum or pastoral care arrangements, for the better organization and administration of the school;
• Sharing in any possible and reasonable way in the effective management, organization, order, and discipline of the school;
• Making use of technological devices/aides and other adaptations during the delivery of the lessons;

Job Requirement

• Fully qualified and experienced Mathematics Teacher with a BSc or B.Ed. or a Master’s in Math Education and a relevant professional teaching qualification
• have secondary teaching experience preferably at a similar level of at least 5 years
• have excellent English language skills
