Job Description


Community in Action Against Poverty (CAAP) is a non-profit Local organization focusing on Humanitarian, development, justice and peace building works, that aims to save lives, strengthening local economies, building resilient communities and promote justice, accountable and democratic governance, to ensure stable and inclusive Somali region in Somali region and Ethiopia at large.

Job Purpose Summary:

Under the supervision of the Targeting and Registration Officer, the Enumerator is responsible for collecting reliable and accurate data and follows instructions provided by the team leader. Enumerators should conduct household-level surveys and beneficiary registration using digital-based tools such as Kobo Collect, ODK, and COMCARE. Enumerators should also facilitate and support the Officer when conducting focus group discussions and key informant interviews.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Collect data on KOBO/ODK tools for survey data collection in Fafen and Sitti Zones
  • Conduct House to house Interview and fill all the required questionnaires as per standard and required procedures.
  • Collect data and record responses as instructed using the appropriate tools.
  • Comply with the requirements necessary as per the organization guidelines for data collection
  • Facilitate and support team leader during focus group discussion and key informants’ interviews.
  • Participate in daily briefs to report on the previous day’s activities and get updates/instructions from the Field supervisor.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Officer or designated supervisor.
  • Promoting of and adhering to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse policy and guidelines
  • Comply with CAAP internal policies
  • Use CAAP`s material and equipment efficiently and with utmost care
  • Take liability for damage inflicted to equipment or material through gross negligence.
  • Comply with all relevant CAAP policies and procedures with respect to child safeguarding, safety and security, code of conduct, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Direct Hierarchy: Targeting and Registration Officer

Location: Fafen and Sitti Zones

Contract duration: 2 Months

Career Level: Mid-Level (2 -3 years’ experience)

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Secondary school or Diploma in agriculture, health, Social science, Nutrition, development studies
  • Minimum one-year experience in Data collection, Beneficiaries targeting, Beneficiaries registration, or related field, and familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines such as Core
  • Humanitarian Standards, SPHERE, Emergency Response Guidelines
  • Familiarity with the use of Android-based tablets or Smartphones and mobile data collection applications such as KOBO collect, ODK and COMCARE.
  • Fluency in Somali and English, both written and verbal
  • High level of commitment and willingness to travel frequent/long distance in hardship areas
  • Demonstrated skills in partnership building and interpersonal communication
  • Knowledge and residing of the working area are preferred
  • Must be Computer literate and be able to use a smart phone
  • Excellent communication and coordination skill, preferably with the community and woreda line departments government
