COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Soufflet Group is a French family-owned business which is collecting and adding value to agricultural raw materials through industrial milling and malting among other activities.

In malting, it is a front-rank world player on the malt market with 28 malt plants in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa, located at the heart of the barley producing regions.

Soufflet has started its operation in Ethiopia in 2017 in the barley supply chain and has commissioned its malt factory in Addis Ababa in April 2021.

Soufflet aims to source/buy 100% of its raw material locally which represents 80 000 tons per year.

 To manage the supply chain and sales of seeds, chemicals and procurement of barley, Soufflet is looking to hire a Supply Chain Manager.

  CORE MISSION

 The Supply Chain Manager (Barley) is in charge of all operations in its Territory (Arsi, Oromia).

He is leading a commercial team of 15 staffs and is responsible for (i) sales of inputs and (ii) procurement of barley and a (ii) team of storekeepers for the aggregation of barley.

He is actively promoting the growth of malting barley in his Territory and manage all barley suppliers to ensure the targets are met in terms of volumes, quality and price (landed cost to the warehouses in his territory).

MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES

The major responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager (Barley):

  •  Define the budget of the Territory in terms of volumes of collected barley, revenue, gross margin, expenses and results. Once approved, monitor their implementation to achieve the objectives.
  • Determine with his commercial team the objectives by area and supplier and prioritize actions to increase market share.
  • Lead, motivate and assist/support the commercial team in difficult negotiations in each area of his Territory
  • Ensure the proper performance of the commercial team, control that objectives are met
  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor, in collaboration with the Logistic Manager, the operations from delivery of inputs to malting barley procurement, storage and delivery to the factory.
  • Implement, manage and report the daily and weekly positions regarding purchases of barley and sales of inputs in terms of volume, value and margin.
  •  Monitor and control the Territory’s achievement of objectives and bring to Management any further information and feed-back to ensure a clear reporting of the activity.

Job Requirements

1. Qualification 

  •   Bachelor/ Master in Agribusiness, Supply Chain, Procurement/Purchasing, Business Administration, Economics or related field

2.  Experience 

  •  7 years’ experience in sales and/or procurement and/or agribusiness
  •   Experience in agriculture is a plus but not a must (However, willingness to work and adapt in the agribusiness sector is necessary)
  •  Target oriented and good at motivating and following a large sales/procurement team
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strict in reporting and well versed in data management (high proficiency in excel

3. Language 

  • Fluency in English and and Afan Oromo is a strict requirement
