Report to: KasmoDev Consulting Director

Location (Duty station): Somali Region, Liban Zone: Dolo Ado & Bokolmayo Wereda

Career Level: Mid-level (2 – 4 Years’ experience)

Employment Type: Temporary (6 months

Job Summary

Accompany through training & coaching the 5-steps corporate governance learning journey towards a ‘share farming’ arrangement of agricultural cooperatives in Dollo Ado and Bokolmayo woredas specifically Buramino, Hilaweyn, Kole,Kobe and Melkadida Kebels (members and management teams), towards a co-grafted sustainable agribusiness. The training and coaching will be based on the following 5-steps governance learning journey paving the way for a solid foundation for: 1. a shared understanding of corporate governance as foundational to business sustainability to 2. a shared understanding of roles and responsibilities, 3. of a vision for future governance (Cooperatives, Union, Farm Management Company) and 4. associated operational documents, paving foundations for 5. sustainable, inclusive governance and adequate record keeping for enhanced business bankability.

We are looking for a responsible Supervisor to oversee the workflow at our facilities. He/She will not just be someone who supervises the work of others. A supervisor is also responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between subordinates and upper management. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train employees. He/She will be well-versed in processes under the role’s responsibility and will be results-driven and focused. The goal is to ensure that trainings are carried out productively so as to ensure structured and sustainable governance of cooperatives.

Supervisor responsibilities include:

  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to subordinates
  • Travel to centers where training coaching are provided and support and supervise trainers and coaches.
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Receive complaints and resolve problems
  • Maintain timekeeping and personnel records
  • Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa
  • Prepare and submit performance reports (Preparing reports weekly and monthly on provided tools)
  • Examine, interview and train new employees
  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • BA/MA in first line management and other related subjects
  • Proven experience as supervisor or relevant role
  • Proficiency in Somali/Maymay and English is required.
  • Knowledge or proficiency of other local languages is an advantage
  • Familiarity with cooperative capacity building and training and coaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
