Job Description

Save the Children first worked in Ethiopia in the 1930s and set up its permanent offices by Save the Children Sweden in 1965 and Save the Children UK in 1974. Our earliest work in Ethiopia focused on humanitarian and emergency relief, and has evolved into a range of longer-term development initiatives for the most vulnerable children. On 1 October 2012, seven Save the Children Member organizations, which had all been working in Ethiopia (Canada, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, UK and USA) came together to form a single organization.

Save the Children Ethiopia remains committed to ensuring the realization of Save the Children’s dual mandate of equally supporting both development and humanitarian works. We work in seven main programmatic sectors in Ethiopia targeting vulnerable children and their families mostly in rural and remote, underserved areas.
