Job Description


Nib Insurance Company (NIC) was established by 658 shareholders with an authorized capital of Birr 50.0 million and a Paid-Up Capital of Birr 14.0 million in May 02, 2002 with 4 branches in Addis Ababa and a total staff size of not more than 50. Currently, the paid up capital has reached to Birr 250 million and the number of shareholders increased to 1,014. NIC provides both General (Non-Life) Insurance and Life Assurance Services to its clients.

Basic Functions

Under the general guidance of the Chief Executive Officer plans, organizes, directs and controls all functions related to strategic and change management; follows up the achievement of strategic objectives and identified changes; and closely collaborate with cross functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and manage changes.

Major duties and responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of the unit;
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive growth and profitability;
  • Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic projects and initiatives;
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to formulate and communicate the company’s vision, mission, values, strategic goals and objectives;
  • Drive Company change by developing and monitoring implementation of change management strategies and programs;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and make recommendations for adjustments as needed;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and inform strategic decision-making;
  • Prepare and submit periodical reports.

Job Requirement

Education: BA Degree in Management or Banking and Insurance or Economics or in related fields

Experience: 9 years relevant experience, of which 4 years in managerial position.

Job grade: XII

Competencies 

  • Intensive knowledge of strategy formulation, planning, evaluation, monitoring,;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of change management tools, principles and concepts;
  • Ability to coordinate and direct a variety of activities;
  • Ability to create effective work teams;
  • Commendable organization and time management skill
