Job Description


The National Bank of Ethiopia was established in 1963 by proclamation 206 of 1963 and began operation in January 1964. Prior to this proclamation, the Bank used to carry out dual activities, i.e. commercial banking and central banking. The proclamation raised the Bank’s capital to Ethiopian dollars 10.0 million and granted broad administrative autonomy and juridical personality. Following the proclamation the National Bank of Ethiopia was entrusted with the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lodges Purchase requisition form for replenishment of every item once it has reaches its reorder level point
  • Inspects and receives incoming items and ensures conformity to quality and quantity specification with requisition invoices and purchase orders.
  • Describes or defines systematically all stock items using numbers or alphabets or alphanumeric codes or barcodes or any combination of these as may be appropriate to the bin card number.
  • Issues items requested from the store to user department’s and maintains continuous stock balance on real time basis
  • Maintains complete and correct records for any items received from the suppliers
  • Receive department requisitions of stationery and other related items, (if it is signed by authorized person) gives withdrawal check code number, fills unit and total price and directs it to the store clerk.
  • Keeps any items in their proper shelf locations and in an orderly manner
  • Follow up the inventory status of stock items on the property registration and management system
  • Reconcile the balance of items as per the stores stock record against the Finance records
  • Verifies the physical conditions of goods stored and conduct physical counting periodically
  • Avails information any time and closely works with internal auditors upon physical Inventory
  • Take inventory of the stock items in comparison with transaction of the property registration and management
  • Prepare statement of all outgoing stationery items every week by department and summary of the statements
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annual plan and performance report and progress report.
  • Perform the duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic computer applications
  • Record keeping & Database management
  • Good Knowledge of store keeping, general warehousing, and familiarity with issuing, stocking, ordering and receiving parts/supplies, and understanding of cycle counts on inventory.

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in Logistic and Supplies Chain Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Marketing Management, Management, Accounting, Accounting and Budget Service, Banking & Finance.
  • 4 years of relevant work experience and CoC Level IV obligatory.
  • Age shall not exceed 40 years.
