Job Description

Job Summary:

To plan, organize, and execute production activities including supervision of production teams, record keeping and reporting, maintenance of quality standards of products, safety, routine maintenance works on machineries and equipment, and to ensure smooth production operation and shift production goals are met.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the production manager in production planning and scheduling.
  • Ensures that the entire operation of the recycling line including raw material transfer and storage, sorting, crushing, washing, drying, extrusion and pressing operations are executed in such a way that .
  • Ensures that all the different operations of the recycling plant are synchronized, machinery & equipment, manpower, and material utilization is optimized, set-up times are minimized and plant capacity utilization is maximized.
  • Ensures product quality and safety by strictly supervising that process control tests have been carried out as per procedures and always within target limits.
  • Ensure materials and labor-time consumed during the process has been recorded and reported regularly.
  • Prepares shift schedule to include work station assignments/rotations, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
  • Trains and coaches production line employees; conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Ensures production of his/her shift has been properly recorded, and transferred to store following the right procedure and documents designed for the same.

Requirements

Required Competences:

  • Knowledge of of plastic recycling and extrusion technology
  • Knowledge of production planning and scheduling techniques and principles
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of oneself, production personnel, and production unit to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Basic Office Applications skills.
  • The ability to apply general production and management rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense in light of specific problems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualification: BSc Degree in Environmental Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Industrial chemistry/ Applied Chemistry or other relevant field of study.

Work Experience: 4 years of experience in manufacturing preferably in the plastic recycling industry of which 2 years on supervisory position.
