Job Description


Purpose of the position:

The Senior Project Support Manager is responsible for coordinating support for the project and works closely with Chief of Party on strategy, prioritization of support, and other needs. The Senior Project Support Manger will help facilitate the successful implementation of the project from start-up to close-out through close working relationship with the Chief of Party. He/She will take responsibility in providing the necessary support on financial, human resource and support services matters related to the grant project. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

Major Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate and organize the preparation of annual financial, human resource and other support services project plan for the grant project.

·         Take responsibility in providing the necessary support on financial, human resource, ICT and support services matters related to the grant project. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

·         Ensure proper utilization and integration of resources through close follow up with Finance staffs and Project Managers, including compliance with WV and CIFF policies and procedures for grant management, sound financial monitoring, control and management.

·         Closely follow up internal and external processes to ensure procurement of quality and adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.

·         Provide periodic reporting on financial, human resource and support service deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating principally to the Chief of Party and other key project leaders.

·         Engage in and ensure that appropriate human resource performance monitoring mechanisms with proper coaching and mentoring are practiced to enhance smooth staff relations and accountability.

·         Promote major cross cutting themes including environment, gender, protection, disability, peace building and Christian commitment.

Job Requirements

Required Professional Experience:

Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business. Build and maintain relationships by engaging key leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.

Qualification

BSc/BA degree or MSc/MA degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development studies and related fields

Experience:

12 yrs for MSc/MA and 14yrs for BSc/BA with minimum of 5+ years on projects leadership experience including tracking and planning projects and working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional manner in an international NGO or similar organization.

Preferred Knowledge

Effective in written and verbal communication in English. Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff. Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
