The National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) is the central bank of Ethiopia. Its headquarters are in the capital city of Addis Ababa. Yinager Dessie is the current governor of the bank.The bank is active in promoting financial inclusion policy and is a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI).

Job Summary

The Senior Investor Education Officer will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the ECMA in engaging the public through various activities including, coordinating training and investor education programs, and assisting the ECMA in planning and executing stakeholder engagement sessions for the ECMA’s directives and other initiatives. The Senior Investor Education Officer will also be tasked with developing and implementing investor education programs and materials for the ECMA. This will include researching and identifying the needs of investors, creating educational content such as brochures, webinars, and workshops, and delivering this content to the target audience. The Senior Investor Education Officer will also work with other departments within the ECMA to ensure that the investor education materials align with the organization’s overall goals and objectives.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Specific tasks of the Senior Investor Education Officer will include, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Research report on the needs of investors in the target audience
  • Coordinate and facilitate capacity building programs including trainings, workshops, investor education campaigns, and related activities
  • Proactively support the development of a capacity building strategy by collaborating with the relevant ECMA teams
  • Facilitate engagement with stakeholders including government agencies, private sector stakeholders, media, and international development partners.
  • Monitor the implementation of ECMA’s capacity building and investor education activities
  • Facilitate and coordinate meetings and venue arrangement for workshops or other events.
  • Manage ECMA’s engagement with media outlets, public relations, and advertising agencies in relation to capacity building activities
  • Manage all external correspondence related to capacity building and investor education including, data, reports, documents, and letters to and from relevant stakeholders (including government agencies and development partners)
  • Manage documentation, retention and storage of all engagement and training materials and information
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive stakeholder database
  • Support ECMA in the administration, procurement and finance of its capacity building and investor education activities
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by ECMA’s management team

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics, Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Accounting and Finance, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Business Education, or related fields.
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years involves training professionals, designing, and developing public awareness campaigns, marketing and advertising or a media related role.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at the same time
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team
  • Demonstrate integrity and accountability in all aspects
  • Very good report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of written and spoken English and Amharic
