Job Description


Ethio-Asian Industries S.C is Ethiopia’s first privately owned manufacturer of personal care products and the only native manufacturer with a nationally recognized brand; Diana Soap . Ethio-Asian Industries SC, formerly known as East Africa Kality Soap and Detergent factory, is located at Eastern part of Addis Ababa, Kaliti. It is the first private sector soap and detergent factory established by well-known industrialist and EAHSC chairman Mr. Bizuayehu Tadele to manufacture Laundry soaps, Detergents and Toilet soaps.

Ethio-Asia made partnership agreement with Zoscales Partners (ZP) to meet its objective of becoming strong player within the personal care space by aspiring the right niche market of the lower and middle-income class of Ethiopia. Given the continued growth and future expansion of EAISC, the following opportunity exist.

Job Purpose

Provide quality, value-adding, and consistent HR services and advice that support the operation whilst ensuring equity among staff and compliance with HR programs and policies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures the proper implementation of EAI’s Human Resources Policy Manual and the Labor Code of Ethiopia;
  • Prepares Human Resources Planning to ensure a sustainable supply of qualified personnel;
  • Organizes recruitment programs;
  • Participates in recruitment and selection of team members;
  • Conduct Training Need Assessment
  • Facilitate employees’ training and development process programs
  • Organizes orientation programs and introduces new entrants with EAI vision, values, working culture, policies, and procedures;
  • Ensures the timely renewal/termination of staff contracts and liaises with all units to ensure all contractual arrangements are handled in accordance with EAI HR policy and Ethiopian Labor Proclamation;
  • Follows up on employees’ database, update information, and timely report retirement information to HR Manager for subsequent actions;
  • Assists in capacity building of HR team members;
  • Prepares annual leave plan and ensures that all team members have submitted their leave plan each year and follow up the implementation of the plan accordingly;
  • Updates and maintain all records of team members leave, in their personnel files and ensure that leave is taken as per the plan of the organization;
  • Updates and keep files of employees and prepare monthly and need-based periodic statistical HR reports;
  • Assists the HR Manager in handling disciplinary issues
  • Assists in monitoring, following up and assessment of employee satisfaction periodically.
  • Assists in Human Resources Policy and Procedure manual preparation, updating, and other related issues.
  • Coordinating regular performance management programs and compiling staff members’ performance data during quarterly reviews.
  • Assists in administering team members’ entitlements, allowances, benefits, and incentives making timely updates in the EAI HR database and timely liaising with the insurance company on changes in employee family status, and new enrolments.
  • Organizes the HR Department archive in order to make smooth accessibility of records;
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualification : BA Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Business Management & Management

Experience : A minimum of 5 years experience. Proven experience in FMCG Industries is added advantage.
