Job Description


S Sara Group of companies are Ethiopia based companies engaged in Export, Import, Construction, Manufacturing and other related sectors. Africa Steel is one among them, located at Gelan, Oromia with Head Office located at Addis Ababa.

Reporting to General Manager, Sales and Marketing Department Head will be responsible for establishing and directing the marketing and sales activities of the organization including advertising and public relations. These activities affect the direction and goals of business.

Job brief:

We are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. He/She should have a solid working knowledge of IFRS and strong financial analysis skills. He/She should also possess strong Peachtree, Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable;
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results;
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status;
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending;
  • Provide technical support and advice on Management Accountant;
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures;
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers;
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process;
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process;
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule;
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns;
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance;
  • Plan, assign and review staff’s work;
  • Support month-end and year-end close process;
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS principles;
  • Liaise with all managers and junior staff to improve financial procedures;
  • Performs other duties assigned by management, as required

Requirements

Education & Experience Required: At least BA degree in accounting with 4 years and above work experience in manufacturing company / relevant.
