Job Description


Scope of role

To generate revenue for the company by working with our marketing generated leads and your own prospects, to understand their requirements, and from this to pitch to them the most suitable services across the disciplines we offer. To do this you will need to have a detailed understanding of our services so the ability to learn is a must.

As a sales Manager, your role will involve:

  • There will be ad-hoc duties.
  • Morning sales execution and planning meetings
  • Check all prospects, registrations, call center activities, appointments, viewings, valuations, vendor contact and mortgage appointments from the previous day.
  • Identifying opportunities for new business
  • This is a proactive role, and you will be working to targets to ensure success.
  • Managing and training the sales team
  • Ensuring customers get the best possible service.
  • Developing a strong knowledge of your local and international market

Main responsibilities

Sales and targets

  • To actively and professionally manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation and lead management to prospecting, arranging appointments, preparing proposals and presentations, negotiating, closing and handing over new accounts to the account management team.
  • To build, manage and maintain a substantial pipeline and to ensure that all pipeline activity is accurately documented and kept up-to-date in the CRM system
  • To ensure that all sales opportunities are fully captured, explored and qualified.
  • To ensure all customers have agreed and signed a Sales Agreement prior to any work starting and that all signed paperwork is attached to the relevant opportunity in good order before that opportunity is marked as won and invoiced
  • To supply to the Managing Director prompt and accurate information about sales, so that forecasting is accurate, and customers can be promptly and accurately invoiced
  • To effectively meet (and exceed) sales targets as set by the Managing Director

Best practice and organization

  • To keep fully up-to-date with industry developments
  • To identify, evaluate and share resources, tactics and techniques, freely sharing knowledge, insight, best practice and ideas across the company.
  • To work closely with the account management team to ensure that account managers are kept up-to-speed with all relevant details so that all clients receive a top quality, professional handover from business development to account management.
  • To liaise with and keep informed other TradeEthiopia departments as required.
  • To represent TradeEthiopia at industry events when required and to always represent the Company and its services in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • To actively contribute to the TradeEthiopia blog as required

Requirements

Qualification:

  • Degree in Sales and Marketing, or related fields
  • To be considered for the Sales Manager role you must have:
  • The ability to build a great relationship with customers.
  • Drive and determination with a passion for international trade & import/export
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in business service sales
  • Managerial experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Driving license

Key skills and experience

  • Relevant experience selling digital products, services, events trainings, and subscription packages in a business environment with a proven and impressive track record.
  • Excellent listening, negotiating, influencing and closing skills.
  • Numerate and literate with excellent communication skills. Able to deliver clear and concise ideas to internal and external stakeholders and produce top quality written proposals and presentations.
  • Analytical, with the ability to interpret information, news, data and research quickly — and distil the most important/relevant information to build intelligent sales strategies for businesses of all sizes.
  • Excellent face-to-face presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills, meticulous attention to detail and a proven ability to multi-task
  • The gravitas and credibility to build relationships with executives at all business levels.
