Scope of Responsibility

Rooms Division Managers lead, control and supervise the Front Desk, Guest Services and Housekeeping departments. They work closely with Reservations to assure and maximize occupancy rate and revenue and they are also in charge of the overall smooth running of the operations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide inspired leadership for the organization.
  • Is in charge of the organization and quality of Reception, Nights, Housekeeping and Reservations
  • Maximize and identify revenue and cost control opportunities within the departments
  • Manages and motivates the teams in order to improve sales and quality
  • Leads and brings life to Mercure projects and identity features in the departments
  • Deliver cost and expense targets
  • Fully involved with business planning, revenue management, and forecasting
  • Anticipates the needs of “repeat” guests and issues instructions to ensure those needs are met by the different teams within the departments
  • To respond to changes in the Operations function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
  • Work with senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • Support worker communication with the management team

Job Requirements

  • BA/MA in Hotel and Tourism Management or related field
  • 4 or above Years in a Managerial Position
  • At least 2 years of operational experience in hotel (as a Department Head)
  • Preferable if they have an Experience as Quality Assurance in the Hotel and Tourism Sector
  • Computer literate and fluent in speaking & writing skills of English language
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in management, operations, and leadership.
  • Solid understanding of financial management.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
  • Excellent communication skills.
