Job Description


Job Summary

The RMAM manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, leading, and managing all activities of DSW Ethiopia related to resource mobilization, advocacy, and research and monitoring and Evaluation. H/She is expected to closely work with all country office team and maintain good working relation with international RM, advocacy and M &E teams. H/She is expected to make sure that RM and Advocacy strategies and objectives are implemented, achieved, and well communicated at all level.

Responsibilities

H/She is also responsible to engage in high level advocacy with parliamentarians, EC delegates and AU advocacy team including coalitions and networks. Areas of responsibility for the position include;

Organizational

  • In Consultation with the CD, identify strategic partners and solicit joint resource mobilizations
  • Manage country office resource mobilization and advocacy related activities including the development of concept notes and proposals in support of project activities and advocacy work
  • Play crucial role so that the country office has stable and sustainable financial and material resources to carry out its core business.
  • Ensure that country office RM and Advocacy strategies are in line with the international framework
  • Identify opportunities for synergy between advocacy and resource mobilization work of DSW and work with other departments on how to take advantage of advocacy activities contribute to RM
  • Build relationship, engage and represent DSW to strategic advocacy targets particularly the Ethiopian government bodies, multi and bilateral institutions including EC and AU
  • Support programs and projects team in acquiring evidences that aim at improving the design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs.

MANAGEMENT

  • Supervise Monitoring and Evaluation officer
  • Collaborate and liaise and create good working relationship with national and international team
  • Ensure the quality of products and documents produced by DSW team members, including strategic plans, guidelines, M&E tools and standard operating procedures
  • Make sure that proper planning and implementation of the project’s activities according to the defined strategy and targets;

Operational

  • Coordinate and lead resource mobilization efforts of DSW Ethiopia in collaboration with national and international DSW staff
  • Manage and lead advocacy activities  in collaboration with  youth champions , youth networks
  • Organize advocacy events on selected SRHR issues and participate in regional and international network
  • Provide technical support and backstopping to respective country office team in the area of research, monitoring and evaluation
  • Review tools and other project related guidelines for improved program implementation , monitoring and impact assessment
  • Contribute to program evaluation, facilitate knowledge-sharing across global, regional, and country-based team-members to institutionalize knowledge
  • Update resource mobilization and advocacy strategies in line with DSW global
  • Ensure an effective coordination with other department of the country office
  • Coordinate and closely wirk with youth champions

RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING DSW’s SAFEGUARDING POLICIES

  • Ensure respect of DW’s policies as well as their implementation at all levels
  • Ensure staff members receive appropriate orientation on those policies (Gender policy, Social Media use, Harassment policy and code of conduct) and compliance, including from partners and local actors;
  • Report immediately without investigation any concern, suspicion or incident to the country director related to SGBV and harassment ;

Job Requirement

Education & Qualification : MPH/MA, Degree in Health, Social Science related field.

Required experience

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in resource mobilization, advocacy and proposal writing, work in multi –national and multi-cultural environment
  • Proven ability in team management and work in functional links with other teams
  • Strong experience in project monitoring and evaluation and excellent communication skills development related projects would be a strong asset
  • Strong experience and knowledge on project management and Community-based approach;

Skills

  • Excellent command of English language
  • Ability to use software including data management and presentations
  • Ability to conduct regular field visits;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with teams and develop team spirit.

Duty Station:   Based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to project sites
