Job Description


We are seeking a professional, friendly, organized, and service-oriented Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the reception area, welcoming employees, clients, visitors, and guests, handling inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and providing efficient administrative and front-desk support.

The Receptionist will play an important role in ensuring professional and smooth communication between the company, employees, clients, visitors, and other stakeholders.

Position Details

Position Title: Receptionist

Department: Administration / Front Office

Location: Kurmuk Gold Mine, Kurmuk, Assosa, Ethiopia

Reports To: Administration Manager / Camp Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and professionally assist employees, clients, visitors, and guests.
  • Manage the reception/front desk area and ensure it is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Receive and direct incoming telephone calls, messages, and inquiries to the appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Provide accurate information to employees, visitors, and guests while maintaining professional communication.
  • Maintain accurate visitor registration and reception records.
  • Coordinate and control visitor access in accordance with camp security procedures.
  • Assist with employee, visitor, and guest check-in and check-out procedures where required.
  • Coordinate accommodation or room allocation information with the relevant department.
  • Maintain accurate records of room/bed occupancy and guest movements as assigned.
  • Receive, record, and distribute incoming documents, correspondence, parcels, and other deliveries.
  • Assist with booking and coordinating meetings, appointments, and other administrative activities.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reception and accommodation reports as required.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of reception-related records.
  • Handle employee and guest requests professionally and refer issues to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Security, Administration, Catering, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure smooth camp operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company, employee, client, and visitor information.
  • Report any security, safety, maintenance, or service-related concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with ATS policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, and client standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and professional conduct at all times.
  • Perform other reasonable administrative and reception-related duties as assigned by management.
About You

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Receptionist, Front Desk Officer, Guest Service Officer, or similar position.
  • Previous experience in hotels, camps, mining sites, catering companies, or hospitality operations is an advantage.
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle documentation effectively.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work professionally with employees, clients, visitors, and management at different levels.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain professional in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural and diverse team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Experience working in a remote mining/camp environment is an advantage.
  • High level of professionalism, discipline, reliability, and accountability.
  • Ability to speak and understand English, both written and spoken, is a must.
