Job Description


2. KEY FUNCTIONS:
Under the general direction of the ChiefExecutive Officer and in accordance with general policies and procedures of the Company and national and international food laboratory quality assurance requirements, plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the quality assurance functions of the company; formulates policies, strategies and procedures for the quality assurance function; develops, implements and maintains quality assurance systems

and procedures.

 
3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·       Plans, organizes, co-ordinates, executes and directs the quality assurance functions of the Company;

·       Formulates policies and strategies for quality assurance and ensures their implementation up on approval;

·       Prepares long, medium and short term operation plans for quality assurance and ensures their implementation upon approval;

·       Ensures the design, documentation, implementation and maintenance of appropriate quality assurance systems and procedures and ensures their implementation upon approval;

·       Verifies and confirms compliance to standard operating procedures, manuals and systems put in place by the company and takes the necessary measures in cases of non-compliance;

·       Organizes, coordinates and directs quality audits for testing, products and systems certification and inspection services;

·       Reviews on-conforming audit results to find out the root causes of the irregularity and take appropriate corrective actions;

·       Designs and executes internal audit program for the laboratory, implement it; collects feedbacks and takes corrective actions to resolve identified problems based on the audit findings;

·       Communicates with Customer Service and marketing units to obtain customer quality related complaints and take the necessary corrective measures in collaboration with concerned unit;

·       Organizes and coordinates the design and implementation of full-fledged quality management system in the company by developing top management awareness to set out quality assurance policy, train experts, etc. and designing systems and procedures so as to minimize internal & external quality failures and thereby reduce quality costs;

·       Identifies the training needs of employees for quality improvement and develop and implement proper training plan in collaboration with concerned units;

·       Spearheads the formulation, introduction, maintenance and continuous improvement of quality management system for the Company;

·       Keeps abreast with latest national and international certification and accreditation requirements for food and agricultural product laboratory services and ensures compliance;

·       Prepares and submits periodic performance reports on the performances and activities of the Department.

·       Evaluates the performances of employees working under his/her supervision; and

·       Performs other related managerial and non-managerial tasks.

About You

4.1 Education: MSc or BSc in Chemistry, Biology, Food Sciences, Quality Management or closely

related fields

 
4.2 Experience: 8 or 10 years,respectively, in closely relevant areas, of which 4 years shouldbe in

quality management
