Summary

The person will mainly work out of our office and lab in Addis Ababa being responsible for operating our laboratory. Structure everything related to quality control and all our procurement in our laboratory. Other related tasks will be to do extensive travelling to coffee producing regions to follow up farmers, producers and exporters. Handling samples in and out and some customer relations when we have visitors

We are looking for person who is very systematic and practical with good operational skills
Must have a basic insight and a good understanding of both the global market for specialty coffee as well as coffee growing and processing
Should also have basic knowledge and interested in sales and marketing.

Your work will consist of:

• Main responsibility is cupping and quality control
• Handling sample roasting
• Handling all other practical tasks and systems in the lab
• Draw stock lot samples from warehouses
• Handling and oversee hulling, grading, bagging and labelling of coffee samples
• Sending samples to clients with DHL, Fedex etc
• Trace ability sheets, marketing material and coffee/producer info on all coffees
• Develop/handling sample tracking systems

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education: Higher education, minimum bachelor degree (preferably agronomy)

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience of systematic cupping and roasting of specialty coffee.

Language: Advanced English written and spoken & Amharic.
