Job Description


Duties

General Duties:

  • Make propositions to the FIDO Executive Director in developing and implementing FIDO media and communication policies and procedures

Specific Duties:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of an information/communication management strategy for FIDO.
  • Regularly assists in updating the English language content of the FIDO website.
  • Prepares in coordination with other staff members, the publicity materials and avail for use
  • Manage the business communications aspects of FIDO. Some of the Printed materials include brochures, newsletters and articles for the local and international community.
  • Maintain FIDO photo library and ensures that a proper process of photo documentation of all FIDO’s projects is carried out.
  • Raising awareness of FIDO and its work, at the local and international level, preparing multi-media presentations and distributing press released to targeted media as necessary.
  • Work with all forms of media, and help produce supporting materials such as posters, websites and newsletters to promote, market and advertise forthcoming events.
  • Attend meetings with local actors as required and take and share minutes as required.
  • Prepare program related documents/updates including projects’ profiles, fact sheets, speeches, success stories and situation analysis in English.
  • Serve as a /the focal person for any ad hoc report that is requested by FIDO or any of its stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports to donors and other stakeholders about FIDO programs in English in a quality and timely manner.
  • Ensure that project results and reports are properly disseminated internally and externally through different media channels.

Job Requirement

Required Qualifications

  • BA/MA Degree in Social Science, Media, Communication, English or any other related fields.
  • Minimum 6 years for the first degree and 4 years (masters) of solid experience in the field of written and oral communication, and out-reach.
  • Fluency in English language with excellent oral and writing skills; ability to draft documents on short notice.
  • Excellent computer and internet knowledge, skills and applications.
  • Expert knowledge of websites content management systems and new internet Technologies.
  • Experience in design work for printed or web-based media.
  • Photography skills with knowledge in using graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ability to handle multi-tasks and meet strict deadlines.
