Job Summary:

Under the supervision of Orthopeadic Technologists assist technical orthopaedic clinicians in providing care and fabricating and fitting prosthetics orthotics appliances as well as provision of mobility aids to clients with disabling conditions of limbs and spine.

Duty and Responsibility

• Under guidance of and in consultation with Orthopeadic
• Technologists fabricate prosthetics socket and orthotics shells using different fabrication technology,
• Under guidance of and in consultation with Orthopeadic
• Technologists carryout preliminary assembly of orthotics appliances and bench alignment of prosthetic devices,
• Produce standard pre fabricated prosthetics orthotics parts and mobility aids as per standard measurements and samples,
• Under the supervision and directive of Orthopeadic Technologists perform repair and maintenance of prosthetics orthotics and other assistive devices,
• Receive raw materials components and parts from store and ensure proper storage as well as economical use,
• Eensure that assigned work areas are clean , safe and in good state of workshop management at all times,
• Under the guidance of Orthopeadic Technologists clean and maintain workshop, cast taking and gait training equipment,
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
• Immediate Supervisor: Orthopeadic Technologists

Job Requirements

Qualification : Level 3 competency in metal fabrication or Grade 10 complete

Experience : 2 year experience for Level III and 4 years experience for grade 10 as Prosthetic-Orthotic aide
