Job Description


The Lemmi National Cement S.C. Industrial Complex is being constructed as a joint venture between Ethiopian East African Holding Company and West China Cement Limited. The factory is being installed on 270 hectares of land with a total first round investment of cost $2.2 billion US dollars at Ensaro district of North Shoa zone, Lemi town. Apart from cement, the industrial complex will produce glass and gypsum products. When completed it is expected to create a job up to 10,000 employees.

About Job

To ensure efficient and smooth operation within Lemi – National Cement by designing effective Financial Services systems, policies, and procedures

Responsibilities

  •  Lead, plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to financial strategy development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily financial activities in adherence with the law of the land and the company’s financial management policy.
  • Perform appropriate recording, documentation, and reporting of financial transactions
  • Ensure any payments are supported by legitimate documents, authorized by the pertinent authority and it is lawful.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports
  • Monitor, debtors’ and creditors’ Accounts and endeavor to improve collection to mitigate the risk of encountering bad debt.
  • Ensure proper cash management that lets you know the company’s cash position and perform bank reconciliation periodically.
  • Monitor the use of company assets, and their safety values to ensure that the company’s interest is protected
  • Oversee those assets that are appropriately acquired, depreciated, and disposed of.
  • Manage the tax accounting and compliance process, e.g., Value Added Tax, Withholding Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Income Tax, Deferred Tax Asset/Liabilities, etc.
  • Participate in the preparation, analysis, and submission of a financial plan and annual budget which will serve as basis for performance measure.
  • Ensure the timely, and accurate periodic financial closing
  • Control and evaluate the Company’s funding plans and capital needs.
  • In consultation with Group CFO, shall provide a prompt reply to the external and internal audit report
  • Manage salary payments and properly capture any personnel costs
  • Create good relationships with the city administration or any pertinent tax office as well as with banks to ensure amicable and trustworthy business processes.

Requirements

Qualifications/Skills

  • Master’s degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields with Six (6) years of demonstrated experience out of which three (3) years in a managerial position

Or

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience, four (4) years in a managerial position.
  • Relevant experience in construction and project works
