Job Description


OVID Construction Plc, established in in 2013, is a Design and Build (DB) company with G -1 building construction license. It is legally registered and operates in Ethiopia, Djibouti and Kenya having over 7,000 permanent and temporary employees including highly experienced staff from different areas of specialization. The founder has brought in vast industrial experience and knowledge and values a cost effective yet efficient approach to construction.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful conclusion of the project by providing leadership, strategically managing risk, monitoring finances and making sure that each of the major phase of the project starts and ends on schedule
  • Identify & implement regulations, policies, processes, methodologies & systems for effective project management
  • Plan the projects’ work with the involvement of the Project managers
  • Managing shared resources and finances to make sure each project is progressing on time and within budget
  • Coordinates project managers to make sure the construction work is being done properly
  • Develop a timeline that captures milestones for projects
  • Create budget and monitor finances to ensure the work is done with in the budget
  • Recommend changes to keep projects on track
  • Make alternative plans if initial project planning is inadequate
  • Keep the internal and external stakeholders updated on progress and any deviations from the plans as well as project risks
  • Ensure training & capacity building of construction projects employees are aligned with the project’s objectives

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology or related field of study
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in construction sector of which 10 years in building construction

Knowledge, Ability and Skills

  • Strong leadership skill
  • persistence and determination
  • Analyze and make sound recommendations on complex management and administrative issues.
  • Present proposals and recommendations clearly, logically, and persuasively in public meetings.
  • Establish, maintain and foster positive and effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Familiarity with engineering management software
