About Job

Lead the overall implementation of the program, financial, and administration management. Major program activities include: setting up PFM systems; strengthening Forest Management Groups (FMGs); facilitating negotiation and implementation of PFM plans and agreements; building FMG and Local government capacity to implement, monitor, review and enforce PFM plans and agreements; oversee the establishment of forest based livelihood enterprises; improving environmental awareness and engagement in PFM at the grassroots level; and also overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of activities in the target work closely with the consortium members.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for programme implementation proper administration and financial management of the programme site,
  • Together with regional Government and programme staff prepare regional annual plans and budgets in line with the programme proposal,
  • Organize, supervise and support the task of all officers employed by the project and ensure that their work is carried out properly in accordance with their job description,
  • Organize, facilitate and run trainings/workshops/meetings of project beneficiaries and others,
  • Carry out Programme review workshops to identify areas of improvement and incorporate changes,
  • Monitor and document the programme progress, lessons, good experiences and impact on the rural community, especially women ,youth and also submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports,
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with GO , NGO, private institutions, consortium and community members

Job Requirement

Qualification & Experience

  • Msc in Forestry or NRM, or related fields with minimum experience of 5 years experience in sustainable forest management including PFM activities,
  • Practical experience of working in sustainable livelihoods promotion especially with youth and women
  • Experience of project planning and management ( project cycle management)
  • Good leadership skills, staff management, budget management, coordination and analytical ability, team building
  • Good English communication
