Job Description


We are seeking a dedicated and organized Project Coordinator to support the SALSA project, working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and the study team across Ethiopia, Kenya, and Nigeria. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of project activities, overseeing administrative tasks, and facilitating effective communication among team members and partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the PI on administrative tasks related to the SALSA project.
  • Coordinate the study team across Ethiopia, Kenya, and Nigeria to ensure alignment and progress of project activities.
  • Support staff recruitment and retention efforts to build a strong project team.
  • Oversee the project budget, including making financial requests and preparing financial reports.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions for project staff.
  • Arrange travel logistics for local and international team members.
  • Collaborate with partners including SPHMMC, ABH, P-95, VON, and the Gates Foundation, attending meetings and recording minutes.
  • Facilitate the procurement process for study equipment, working closely with the PI.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with study nurses and update team on progress.
  • Communicate with study team partners via email to ensure timely updates and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of project activities and ensure all study documents are properly organized and secured
  • Keep records of participants per GCP protocol
  • Participate in the preparation of study documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure that study activities are conducted in accordance with the protocol, discussing any issues with study nurses and inform the site investigator for protocol deviations noted.
  • Any additional related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
  • Review day to day patient enrolment supervise study nurses
  • Review daily data entry and provide feedback to study nurses and  the site PI
  • Make sure the daily monitoring of pharmacy team’s engagement and storage of study drugs as per the SOP.
  • Closely follow up the study equipment are available and ready for the study team
  • Prepare checklist for monitoring the study team

About You

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or a health related fields.
  • At least 5+ years of proven experience in coordinating project and related activities.
  • Proven experience in leadership or administrative roles, preferably in a research or health-related setting.
  • Excellent fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Flexibility to accommodate virtual meetings outside standard working hours, considering different time zones.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
