Job Description


JOB SUMMARY

The project coordinator is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned projects in accordance with EPHAL’s mission, strategic objectives and project approaches.

Job Responsibility # 1: planning, Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Collect, compile, analyze and disseminate information/data to support the project planning, implementation and decision –making;
  • In collaboration with the secretariat team, analyzes approved plan, adjust activity plan and provides adaptive management for its full implementations;
  • Ensures implementation of participatory monitoring of projects  by EPHLA and its members;
  • Ensures that all required information/data is made available for project appraisal, monitoring and evaluation and decision making;
  • Participate in all grant agreement negotiations and in all budgets preparation of new grant proposals;
  • Identify research agendas, and plan and undertake research works in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Job Responsibility #2: program Implementation and Technical Support

  • Guide and coordinate the implementation of EPHLA strategic objectives;
  • Supports the development of high performing teams at Regional Chapter office levels.
  • Works with all EPHLA staff to assess and identify technical assistance needs with regard to technical skills, income generating activities, partnership and networking.
  • Ensures that project activities are implemented in collaboration with regional health chapters’ offices, public laboratories and other stakeholders.

Job Responsibility #3 staff management

  • Manages supervisees, leads guides and supports subordinate staff members.
  • Supports the development of high performing teams and ensures that appropriate procedures and policies are followed;
  • Completes performance planning, monitoring, and annual performance appraisals of direct reports.

Job Responsibility #4: Networking, Learning and Reporting

  • Establishes and maintains formal and informal communication mechanisms with governmental and health institutions, donors and other stakeholders;
  • Participates in the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned;
  • Produces quarterly, bi-annual and annual performance reports to the supervisor.
  •  perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

EDUCATION/TRAINING: B.Sc. in medical laboratory technology with a minimum of 5 years experience or M.Sc./MPH in health development or related fields and at least two years experience;

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

  • Project preparation and implementation skills
  • Demonstrated technical ability, sound judgment and ability to work effectively with others at all levels;
  • Computer proficiency;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of laboratory mentorship and being certified ENAO assessor is advantages.
