Job Description


Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a National Civil Society Organization (CSO) that aspires to see all marginalized children properly fostered. The organization has four major programs; Child Development, Gender and Life Skill Development; Skills and Entrepreneurship Development and Lobby & advocacy. DEC works in five National Regional States of Amhara, Afar, Gambela, Oromia Benishangul, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following position Project Coordinator

Job Summary

The project coordinator oversees program development, seeks grants and proposals, oversees budgets, and manages projects. He/She ensures the organization’s activities and programs align with a foundation or nonprofit’s goals and mission statement. Provide technical assistance to project implementation to foster continuous improvement in quality in both in programmatic and operational performance.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop Project Plans; maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
  • Contribute to technical excellence at consortium by being an active member to the technical working lab assigned.
  • Provide technical assistance to project implementation to faster continuous improvement in quality in both in programmatic and operational performance.
  • Create a good and collaborative work atmosphere with the Program Coordinator, Grassroot community
  • Mobilizes resources, initiates and implements projects, and ensures achievements to attain the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • Deploy innovative tools and methodologies for their project implementation.
  • Ensures, and Supports that the program/ project strategic objectives and results are fully achieved and meet expected technical quality standards.
  • Participate in the preparation of project proposals, timeframes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Communicate and cooperates with relevant stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining crucial project documents that track project progress.
  • Closely watch the project schedule, monitoring deadlines for each project task.

Job Requirements

Qualification and experience

  • BA degree in project management, social work, sociology, and strongly related. A Master’s in the relevant field is an advantage.
  • Qualified Female applicants Who fulfill the requirement appreciated

Technical and other Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both local and English languages
  • With strong planning, monitoring, and evaluation, reporting and documentation of lessons learned
  • Strong experience in collaborating and partnering with the government and other partners
  • Proven operational level experience and leadership in project management
