We are a program management office (PMO) team within EthSwitch working on a game-changing national payment platform that intersects highly scalable real-time software, and innovative user experience.

We are looking for a creative problem-solver with strong organizational skill who thrives in fast paced environments and excels at communicating and collaborating across all levels of an organization. The Program Coordinator will report to the Director, and play a pivotal role in coordinating the day to day details of our work, which entails ownership of the project schedule, risk matrix, project governance structure, communication plan, and evaluate project progress for both internal as well as external reporting. Thus, the ideal candidate will possess keen attention to detail, excellent English and Amharic written skills, and the ability to maintain high quality professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

EthSwitch’s strategic vision is to scale digital retail payments transactions in Ethiopia by being a best-in-class switch that enables all value chain participants. To realize this vision, EthSwitch has initiated this journey, with the support from partners, to launch a real-time retail payment platform and develop the payment scheme that will go along with it.
This role is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  •  Fluency in Amharic and English
  •  BA/BS required with a minimum of 6 years of directly related administrative experience
  •  Excellent  verbal and written communication skills with track record of navigating complex unstructured cross-functional environments
  •   Experience in process/systems improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities amid ambiguity
  •  Adaptability to changing conditions and ability to work under pressure
  •  Self motivation and leadership skill
  •   Interest in understanding the programmatic work
  •   Experience working in multi-donor funded projects
  •  Excellent and demonstrable experience reporting to multiple stakeholders
