Job Description


Kerchanshe Trading P.L.C is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in Ethiopia, It has a proud history of providing quality coffees to the local and international markets. Currently our company needs a dedicated and motivated candidate.

Responsibilities

We are looking for highly diligent candidates with excellent attention to detail for the role of Production manager. Production Manager’s primary responsibilities will include working with the facility leadership in the daily management and coordination of packaging production operations while ensuring compliance with all labor, safety, environmental and corporate policies and regulations. These responsibilities will be carried out in a manner that consistently demonstrates the established visions and values of Kerchanshe Trading Company plc.
The Production Manager will provide operational leadership for Buna Pen, and Buna Plate or Melamine . You will ensure effective and efficient operations and advance a culture of continuous improvement.

Production Effort Management

  • Monitor and manage the work assignments and personnel for the Tool Room and Plastic Manufacturing Engineering department.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of the Tool Room, including perishable tooling, mold and die components, operating supplies, and capital expenditures.
  • Monitor and assist with the establishment of tool samples and design experiments for new and existing molds.
  • Coordinate and manage the tooling demands and requirements for the manufacturing facility and support the molding operations.
  • Coordinate and implement standard processes for tooling, molding, and process controls between company molding locations.
  • Manage tooling and piece part cost estimates for the company along with external vendor(s).
  • Collaborate with staff to determine whether tooling should be manufactured in-house or procured from outside vendor(s).
  • Lead project management of work taking place at outside vendors.
  • Creates and executes technical department plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Keeps Factory management well informed of status of factory machines and serves as liaison between Technic staff and factory management.
  • Apply creative knowledge for improving machines lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks.
  • Manages technical resources within budget and schedule.

Communication

  • Facilitates team meetings effectively.
  • Holds regular status meetings with technical team.
  • Keeps technical team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

  • Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model.
  • Manages the technic team by ensuring that tasks are in line with each Innovator’s career interests when possible.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Operations) with emphasis in Plastic Injection Molding.

Experience : 10 years’ experience with 5 years or more experience managing plastics molding department(s) and/or tool room(s).

Skills

  • Tool/Design Engineering Desired.
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Strong management and leadership skills
