Job Description


Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (Shair and Partners) is a privately-owned international multidisciplinary consulting organization in engineering, architecture, planning, environment, project and construction management, facilities management and sustainability. Founded in 1956, its principal design head office and technical support facilities are located in Beirut, Lebanon; Cairo, Egypt; London, UK; Pune, India; and Amman, Jordan; with a network of 47 permanent local branch offices throughout the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe of which 23 are on the African continent.

Dar has provided consultancy services to more than 950 clients in 60 countries and has handled over 4,000 projects involving a total investment cost of over USD 540 billion.

Dar has been registered as a branch office in Ethiopia since 2019 and has worked on different projects for Ethiopian Airlines Group, Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, Cooperative bank of Oromia and Addis Ababa City Road Authorities.

 

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to manage our company’s procurement activities. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that the most cost-effective and high-quality materials are acquired to meet company needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and execute procurement strategies.
  • Manage the entire procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, and finalizing contracts.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring compliance with company objectives.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services in line with project and company needs.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate changes in supply and demand.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Manage procurement records and reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

About You

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven 2 years’ experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement processes and legal regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
