Job Description


The Procurement Division Head at National Transport PLC will oversee the procurement operations within the Development and Project Management sector. This full-time executive role, based in the office in Addis Ababa, is responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor management, and ensuring cost-effectiveness in procurement activities. The successful candidate will lead a team, drive process improvements, and collaborate with other divisions to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Manage the procurement team, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
  • Coordinate with project managers to align procurement needs with project timelines.
  • Optimize inventory management and supply chain processes to reduce waste.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements within the procurement division.
