Job Description


Good Neighbors (GN) is a global NGO founded in Korea in 1991, currently operating in 50 countries. Since 1997, the Ethiopian branch has been committed to improving lives through initiatives in child protection, education, health, and more. Good Neighbors Ethiopia (GNE) operates in various regions of Ethiopia, including Addis Ababa, Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, Benishangul Gumuz, Somali, Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia. Good Neighbors Ethiopia is now launching a new project in Benishangul Gumuz, funded by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), aimed to Increased number of FDPs are engaged in sustainable livelihood and economic opportunities.

Good Neighbors Ethiopia (GNE) is seeking a qualified Procurement & Administration Officer to join our team based at Asosa Project.

  • Reports to: Project Manager
  • Term of Employment: Fixed term 11 months.
  • Duty Station(s): Assosa
  • Required Number: One (1)

Job Summary: The Procurement and Administration Officer will be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process for the organization’s programs in refugee and host communities and support Project manager in Administration & HR related issues. This includes sourcing goods and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies and Staff attendance and support the

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Planning & Sourcing:
    • Plan and implement procurement strategies for all program needs, including:
      • Identifying and sourcing reliable suppliers.
      • Conducting market research and price comparisons.
      • Developing and issuing requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs).
    • Manage the procurement process from planning to delivery, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Contract Negotiation & Management:
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
    • Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, including:
      • Monitoring supplier performance.
      • Resolving any contractual disputes.
      • Ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of all procured goods and services.
    • Ensure proper storage and distribution of supplies.
    • Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile inventory records.
  • Logistics & Delivery:
    • Coordinate the timely delivery of goods to project sites.
    • Oversee the transportation and handling of goods.
    • Ensure the quality and quantity of goods received is as per specifications.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed procurement records, including:
      • Purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and delivery notes.
      • Procurement plans and reports.
    • Prepare regular procurement reports for management and donors.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, procedures, and donor regulations.
    • Maintain the highest standards of ethical and transparent procurement practices.
  • Other Duties:
    • Participate in relevant workshops, trainings, and meetings.
    • Assist in the development of project budgets and procurement plans.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistic, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Administration, procurement and logistics, preferably with an international NGO.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
  • Experience with procurement software and databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis software.
  • Fluency in English, local languages spoken in the community.
