Klaver Flowers PLC (KLF) is a flower farm producing Gypsophila variety for the world market. The farm site is located in Hawassa, 260 km south of Addis Ababa, at Wondo Tika beside the New International Airport. The Company started its operation in 2013 & has been expanding ever since. In its 100 hectarage, KLF currently has more than 1700 employees & has started production on the additional 50 hectares of expansion land, and plans to increase manpower in accordance with production on the expanded land.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Post Harvest Manager to join our team at Klaver Flowers PLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all post-harvest operations, ensuring the quality and freshness of our flowers from harvest to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the post-harvest handling processes, including grading, packing, and cooling of flowers.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and industry best practices.
• Coordinate with the production team to optimize harvesting schedules and techniques.
• Implement and maintain proper storage conditions to preserve flower quality.
• Train and mentor staff on post-harvest handling procedures.
• Monitor and report on post-harvest losses and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to meet customer demands and delivery schedules.
• Conduct regular audits of post-harvest operations to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement post-harvest protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Oversee the maintenance and sanitation of post-harvest facilities and equipment.
• Analyze post-harvest data and generate reports to inform decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Develop and manage the post-harvest budget, including cost control measures.

Educational Background

• BSc degree in Horticulture or Plant Science.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in post-harvest management, preferably in the flower industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Language

• Good spoken and written English language & Sidamigna Language is also advantageous.
