MHCE seeks a visionary, competent, and motivated Pharmacy Mall Manager to lead the full operationalization and growth of this pioneering facility.

Position Title: Pharmacy Mall Manager

Location: Addis Ababa, SPHMMC Campus
Employment Type: One-year contract (renewable based on performance)
Deadline: 06 November 2025
Reports To: CEO/General Manager of MHCE

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Mall Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operations management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, digital transformation, financial management, and service expansion of the Pharmacy Mall. The role ensures alignment with EFDA regulations, MHCE enterprise standards, and SPHMMC institutional priorities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Strategic Management

  • Provide strategic direction and lead the overall Pharmacy Mall operations.
  • Develop annual business plans and performance targets.
  • Drive service expansion that strengthens the Mall’s identity and competitiveness.

2. Regulatory & Quality Compliance

  • Serve as the EFDA-registered Responsible Pharmacist.
  • Ensure full compliance with EFDA laws and GPP requirements.
  • Maintain licensing, documentation, and quality assurance systems.

3. Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations across all service units (dispensing, optics, nutrition, consultation, retail).
  • Ensure 24/7 service readiness with optimal staffing levels.
  • Maintain high standards for medication safety, specialized products, and compounding services.

4. Inventory, Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Lead forecasting, procurement coordination, and stock management.
  • Control wastage, expiry, shrinkage, and controlled-drug handling.
  • Ensure digital inventory accuracy through ERP and dashboards.

5. Digital Systems & Data Management

  • Oversee POS, ERP, e-prescription, dashboards, and automated reporting systems.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and ensure data security.

6. Financial & Enterprise Management

  • Implement MHCE’s financial sustainability model.
  • Manage pricing, revenue, cash flow, and operational costs.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

7. Training, Mentorship & Capacity Building

  • Coordinate student training, internships, CPD programs, and staff development.
  • Support digital pharmacy training, operational skills, and compounding techniques.

8. Research & Innovation

  • Initiate operational and clinical research activities.
  • Support quality improvement and innovative service models.

9. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with EFDA, suppliers, EPSS, partners, and SPHMMC units.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and smooth interdepartmental collaboration.

  • Nutrition & Wellness Unit staff
  • Cashiers
  • Supply Chain Officers

  • Fully operational and EFDA-compliant Pharmacy Mall
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual performance and financial reports
  • Digital performance analytics
  • Training and research outputs
  • Revenue growth and sustainability indicators
  • Customer satisfaction improvements
About You

Required Qualifications

Education

  • MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutics, Industrial Pharmacy, Social/Administrative Pharmacy, or Health Supply Chain Management
    OR
  • BPharm with strong managerial experience.

License

  • Licensed Pharmacist with eligibility for EFDA Responsible Pharmacist registration.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with digital pharmacy systems preferred.
  • Background in teaching or research is an added advantage.

Required Competencies

Technical

  • Strong knowledge of EFDA regulations, GPP, compounding, and pharmacy operations.
  • Solid supply chain and stock management skills.

Digital

  • Experience with ERP, POS, dashboards, and e-prescription systems.

Managerial

  • Leadership, team management, business planning, and crisis handling.

Behavioral

  • Excellent communication, integrity, customer service orientation, and ability to work under pressure.
