Job Description


Supporting with end to end packaging solution

In close cooperation and alignment with the Global packaging optimization team, your tasks consist of implement new packaging, identifying and optimize profitable and functional packaging solutions. This means that you will have close contact with Product Management, category managers, global procurement, and approved suppliers. In this role, you will be directly reporting to the Lean and Continuous Improvement Manager and work closely with our global experts.

In doing so you will be responsible for

  • Develop and implement new packaging to support the respective category growth and productivity agenda.
  • Take lead on cost-saving initiatives on packaging
  • Support operations and logistics by specifying, and reporting line and transit trials for packaging developments and investment projects in cooperation with operations.
  • Support operation optimizing the OEE from a packaging angel.
  • Acts as packaging advisor to the business and dairy.
  • Use of Arla way of working and ensure documentation for packaging is obtained and maintained in the PLM database.
  • Reduce complexity in cooperation with commercial and purchasers.
  • Driving the sustainability agenda of Arla foods by ensuring that our products live up to our Sustainable ambition and retailer guidelines.
  • The individual actively participates in our projects and leads the packaging innovation part, ensuring quality conformance through relevant testing
  • Gives inputs from Packaging side into the project risk assessments
  • Super user of 3DX system, create, maintain documentation and approve packaging objetcs (Initiate Workflow). following NPD Pack assigned accountabilities
  • Pro-actively drives design to value (DTV) initiatives e.g. exploration with suppliers on more cost effective packs and materials, shares proposals back to the Category teams etc.
  • In charge of setting up Packaging development S&OPs for the MENA dairies (Bahrain and Saudi)
  • Point of contact for all packaging projects
  • Creates Packaging Development Request (PDR) for site driven optimisation projects
  • Responsible for onboarding site stakeholders
  • Confirm feasibility at site with Operations & M&E
  • Estimate cost (including cost of trials) & capex impact (in collaboration with E&T)
  • Support Busines Case creation (responsible for Business Cases for SC driven initiatives)

Requirements

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have education in packaging science with 3-5 years of relevant experience in similar positions. You have worked in manufacturing set up and dealt with operators to ensure effective implementation of the packaging solution. Preferred candidates have experience in the food industry with the handling of Aluminum and cardboard as packing material. You are structured and methodical and have good presentation skills.
