Job Description


Job Overview

The Evaluation Data Manager (EDM) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of data related to the Operation Sight evaluation project. The data manager will be responsible for development of data collection platforms, management, storage, and security of data, as well as other technical aspects of the evaluation data collection and management. The data manager will work to ensure delivery of clean, high-quality data and troubleshoot possible information and
communication technology (ICT) challenges during data collection.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all aspects of data management related to the Operation Sight evaluation project
  • Develop user friendly data entry template using Survey CTO
  • Build and maintain data storage systems and ensure that data storage is logical and simple for use by researchers
  • Assess database performance by developing a protocol for the measurement of results and identification of problem areas
  • Develop data management plan and standards
  • Provide management and oversight of data collection including data monitoring, data management, and data cleaning during implementation
  • Train and supervise data collectors
  • Generate query reports and submit to study team members (weekly)
  • Conduct regular data cleaning and basic analysis
  • Ensure electronic data collection (EDC) equipment (i.e. tablets) are inventoried upon arrival and return, tracked, used with care, maintained in a safe place before and after data collection, and returned upon completion of the study.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Epidemiology, Statistics or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrated experience in research data management
  • Skilled knowledge of Survey CTO and STATA
  • Demonstrated and ample experience in managing epidemiological or related research data
  • Excellent IT, communication, leadership and management skills
  • Ability to overcome unexpected difficulties and challenges to produce desired outcomes

Position Location: International Institute for Primary Health Care Ethiopia/IPHC-E, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Funding Source: Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF)

Term of employment: 12 months with possibility of extension
