Our company, Abyssinia Trading Plc, is engaged mainly in dry freight transport with other related businesses.

We want to hire a competent and qualified Operation Manager who meets the below requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct the overall activities of the Company in relation to the successful execution of each transport operation.
• Ensure the compliance of Company’s operation with existing legal frame work in the Country and updated the Company for any change.
• Monitor the general operations of staff directly involved in the transportation operation to make sure that their operations are within the guidelines, safety measures, government orders, and administrative policies.
• Involve in the negotiation and authorization of contracts and other forms of purchases and procurements.
• Develop important indicators that measure and show the effectiveness of each transport operation (local and/or Djibouti)
• Ensure that competent staffs are assigned for each Department/Section by working together with the Human Resource (HR) Manager.
• Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arises) and to set up safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues.
• Maintain open dialogue with other units’ managers so as to organize activities that will enhance company’s general performance.
• Take charge of investigations that look into customer complaints with regards to delivery time, idle time and other related issues.

Job Requirements

Education: A minimum of BA Degree in Management, Business Administration and other related field of study.

Experience: A minimum of five years in Transport operation functions out of which two years in an Operation Manager position

Skills: Good strategic thinking, excellent business judgment and decision-making skills, strong leadership skills, Good negotiation skills.
