Job Description


The Save the Children Fund, commonly known as Save the Children, was established in the United Kingdom in 1919 to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. After passing a century, which it celebrated in 2019, it is now a global movement made up of 29 national member organizations which work in 120 countries.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Cleans office and provides tea/coffee services for staff, guests and meetings; performs other related tasks as required.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: HR& Admin officer

Staff directly reporting to this post: N/A

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Deliver excellent customer service, at all times
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all back of offices and guest area in the compound
  • Assists in making arrangements for meetings, in-house workshops (i.e. arranging tables, chairs, boards etc and re-arranging after completion of event).
  • Polishes floors and furniture’s;
  • Washes and cleans walls and windows;
  • Cleans carpets and rugs in the office by mopping withs equipment;
  • Checks sinks and toilets to ensure that they are in good working conditions; and necessary supplies are available such as toilet rolls, soap, clean towels, etc.
  • Show good manners with staff and visitors
  • Ensures careful handling of office equipment machines while dusting and cleaning;
  • Keeps equipment and materials supplied for cleaning in good order;
  • Collects, disposes and or/incinerates waste;
  • Ensures correct application of detergents and cleaning chemicals to avoid waste;
  • Serves coffee/tea during meetings to employees, guests and visitors;
  • Operates photo copy when requested;
  • Performs other related tasks as required.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of 8th grade with current educational system
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in cleaning and office attending.
  • Good verbal English communication needed
  • Must be efficient and willing to serve employees and guests with good manner all the time
  • Commitment to SCI’s aims, values and principles
