Job Description


Main Purpose

Performing the day to day activities and administrative processes for the clearance and transportation of medical and non-medical goods for a particular supply office (coordination or project level) according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure the optimal running of the mission/project

Accountabilities

• Performing the day to day activities and administrative processes to ensure an efficient running of the clearance and transportation processes of medical and non-medical goods for a supply office (coordination or project) following the supply procedures according to MSF standards and protocols. Including the following activities.

• Monitoring of each international freight status, encoding information in the existing Excel tool, and sharing it internally

• Checking and verification of invoices related to customs office and customs agent, taxes… and preparing complete documentation towards Finance department

• Facilitating payments towards customs clearance agent where needed

• Managing and planning, in collaboration with the line Supervisor and the Logistic department, the shipment of goods between the projects and/or from the capital to the projects choosing the best possible means of transport.

• Being responsible for the reception of international freight

• Being responsible for all customs and administrative related issues. Be always in contact with the customs agent

• Performing delegated tasks according to his / her activity and as specified in his/her job description

If MSF Belgium has a long history in Ethiopia (from 1984 to 2013) the re-establishment of the organization in the country (since March 2021) require to re-build our presence as a new INGO operating in Ethiopia.

Today, MSF Belgium is running 2 projects (SNNP and Tigray regions) and has conducted several assessments with some short-term responses (SNNP, Amhara, Afar).

Our intention is to develop a rapid response capacity, allowing a fast-track assessment and humanitarian response in all the regions of Ethiopia.

The MSF Belgium strategy in Ethiopia is to respond to medical needs, as per our mandate, while having a strong focus on the Environmental Health as a preventive approach.

Job Requirements

Education

• Essential secondary education

Experience

• At least some experience in supply chain related jobs or in the logistics department

Languages

• Essential mission working language and local language

Knowledge

• Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet), preferably intermediate in excel use
