Currently, PRIN International Consultancy & Research Services PLC has entered into a sub-contractor agreement with an American-based Research Triangle Institute (RTI) International to support the implementation of the USIAD’s Climate Resilient Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (CR WASH) Activity in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (AMELP) and integrated Collaborative Learning and Adapting (CLA) by monitoring the Activity’s performance and indicators within the target woredas.

USAID’s Climate Resilient Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (CR WASH) Activity is a five-year program whose purpose is to support an accelerated access to inclusive and resilient WASH services for targeted lowland areas of Afar, Oromia, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Region (SNNPR), and Somali Regions.

In its attempt to fulfill its commitment with USAID/RTI, PRIN is expected to assign two M&E specialists in Dire Dawa, and Yabello project offices. To this end, PRIN is looking for hiring specialists to fill in the following two positions immediately.

Place of Assignment: One for Dire Dawa and one for Yabello project offices

Duration of assignment: Up to five years depending on the candidate’s periodic performance (results)

Salary: Negotiable with an attractive benefit package

Job Requirements

Qualification: Master’s Degree or above in Environmental Health, Health Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Water Engineering, Social Work, Development Studies or other related fields.

Experience & competence:

  • Significant monitoring and evaluation experience of diverse governmental and/or non-governmental (bilateral and multilateral donor) funded projects.
  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of Climate Resilient WASH program
  • Experience in preparing Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (AMELP)
  • Excellent communication skill (written and spoken English), analytical and reporting, organizational, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
  • Good understanding and programmatic experience on various cross-cutting issues such as gender mainstreaming and environment protection
  • Experience in organizing training/workshop on WASH interventions
  • Experience in preparation of progress reports
  • Experience in lowland areas
  • Experience in use, management and documentation of WASH and climate data
  • Experience in working with program stakeholders
  • Very good ability in English, Amharic, Afan Oromo, Somali and other relevant local languages
  • Very good communication, relationship management, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated track-record in successfully managing both qualitative and quantitative data using state-of-art software and data analysis techniques.
  • Creative, innovative and strategic thinker and possess proven ability to produce results.
  • At least five years of directly relevant experience in WASH and M&E. The specialist should be able to present (name) at least five projects that have been monitored or evaluated in the last ten years. S/he may be asked to provide evidence or proof of the engagement in the projects at the recruitment stage.
  • Experience related to planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of USAID funded projects is highly desirable.
