Job Description


Job Summary

The project M&E officer support the implementation of DSW M&E systems focused on data collection, compilation and analysis of DSW project/s. The M & E officer is also responsible to provide technical support, conduct monitor visit, participate in data quality assessment and DSW Project evaluation. In addition, he/she will work with M&E team to document DSW program/projects best practices.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with planning and conducting assessments study design, design or review of data collection tools, data management and quality control for project baseline, mid-term and end line surveys and evaluate studies in collaboration with the team
  • Conduct   data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results of activities undertaken above
  • Develop project/s monitoring and evaluation tools (data collection, analysis etc) in collaboration with the project team
  • Conduct M and E visits to assess projects implementation and to ensure that project/s are moving in the right direction and identify bottlenecks and solutions
  • Assist with compilation of documents and presentations for M & E trainings for program/project staffs and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct/support the development and implementation of trainings on Quality assurance methodologies, data management and M&E tools.
  • Support knowledge management and learning system  of the organization
  • Gathering data, information on DSW Ethiopia projects and best practices through designed systems of data collection and other suggested means.
  • Support the documentation of best practices (case studies, end of projects evaluations etc)
  •  Perform other activities as assigned

Job Requirement

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters degree in Statistics, M&E, Public Health/Social sciences, Demography and related field.
  • A  5 years  practical experience in M & E  preferably in Adolescent  SRH, HIV/AIDS , Family Planning and other related areas
  • Computer knowledge mainly on statistical software such as SPSS, EPI INFO and STATA are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills particularly in English

Term of employment:  One year with high possibility of extension based on project period and performance

Duty station:  Addis Ababa with frequent travel to project sites
