Job Description


Purpose of the Job:  Answers inquiries in a timely manner and checks patients in for their appointments. They call patients to verify appointments, collect information and maintain filing systems. Medical Receptionists also make sure that both patients and staff times are coordinated, and ready for an appointment.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

–          Greet and welcome guests, patients and visitors as soon as they arrive at the

hospital

–           Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls

–           Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary material (e.g.

pens, forms and brochures)

–           Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email

–           Scheduling and setting appointments

–           Calling patients to schedule appointments

–           Registering patients and Patient data entry

–           Answer patient inquires & assisting patients in filling medical form

–           Answer phones prompting and professionally

–           Electronic medical records

–           Patient confidentiality

–           Processing payments from patients

–           Coordinating with healthcare providers

About You

Qualification:

– Diploma or BA Degree in secretarial science, IT, information science, business

Administration or relevant field

–           Minimum 4 years for Diploma or 2 years for BA in relevant experience.

–            Additional certification in Office Management is a plus

 

Competencies:

–           Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role

–           Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with the Internet

–           Hands-on experience with office equipment

–           Professional attitude and appearance

–           Solid written and verbal communication skills

–           Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

–           Excellent organizational skills

–           Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

–           Customer service attitude
