Position Summary:

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for optimizing mechanical equipment performance by conducting preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Reports to: Production & Tech Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct preventive maintenance activities, such as cleaning, lubrication, inspections, and tightening of machines.
• Perform planned corrective maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime and enhance the availability of pressing machines.
• Ensure quality maintenance to uphold machinery availability and streamline production operations.
• Adhere to safety protocols during maintenance tasks, reporting any safety risks or ergonomic issues.
• Develop and implement mechanical maintenance plans to forestall expensive equipment breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, executing necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of processes and mechanical service records.
• Monitor parts availability and restock supplies as required.
• Enhance mechanical efficiency by fine-tuning machinery and equipment settings.
• Provide training to colleagues on the safe and effective utilization of mechanical machinery and equipment.

Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

• Preferably candidates from and residing in Chacha, Kotu, or Debre Birhan city.
• TVET Diploma in General Mechanics or a related field.
• Ideally, 3+ years of relevant experience.
• A minimum of two years’ experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostic testing software.
• Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside of business hours.
