Job Description


Korea Business Center Addis Ababa, a commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, is a regional office of KOTRA (Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency; a governmental institution of the Republic of Korea). Our key mission is to promote trade and investment between Korea and Ethiopia and neighboring countries like Djibouti and Somalia.

We would like to invite qualified and experienced candidates for the Marketing & Research Manager position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Major responsibilities of the Marketing & Research Manager include:
  • Providing high quality customer service to Korean companies
  • Proactively developing and maintaining a solid business network and contacts within Ethiopia and neighboring countries including Djibouti and Somalia
  • Preparing and disseminating market intelligence reports to Korean clients
  • Conducting market researches on various sectors and topics
  • Supporting Korean firms’ winning public procurement tenders and major construction projects
  • Initiating, organizing and managing marketing promotional activities such as trade delegations, exhibitions, conferences, and seminars
  • Advocating Korean business interests
  • Supporting Korean business’s investment activities into Ethiopia
  • Analyzing buyer or transaction data to draw insights for market opportunities

Work Hour: Full-time (40 hours per week, 5 days a week)

Contract Type: Regular for Manager

1st day of Work: Preferably able to start as early as possible

Duty Location(s): Office in Bisrate Gabriel area, Old Airport, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Job Requirements

Education

  • First degree from a recognized university
  • MBA, or other business related master degree is a plus
  • Specialty in a business related field (e.g. business administration, economics, international business, trade, commerce, management) is preferred, but not required.

Language

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Fluency in Amharic (written and spoken).
  • Understanding Korean language is a plus

Qualification : Data literacy is required (merging multiple large datasets, converting variables, analyzing the data using statistical softwares such as R, Python, Stata, SPSS, Excel)

Experience : 2 + years of relevant work experience with a strong background in the following area is a plus : public procurement, marketing in general, online marketing, market research, data analysis, business analysis & business consulting, market intelligence, import & export(trade), and project management
