S Sara Group of companies are Ethiopia based companies engaged in Export, Import, Construction, Manufacturing, Telecom and other related sectors. S Sara Safaricom Business Unit is one among them, located at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Summary

The Marketing Manager owns the upstream portion of the Drinking Water product’s journey to market by leading the positioning of the product and the development of the growth plan through new product development. Reporting to the GM and CTO, this strategic leader collaborates with cross-functional teams to create effective marketing campaigns and develop product positioning strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop brand roadmap for Drinking Water unit, including brand positioning, value proposition, naming strategy, sub-brand and tier strategy.
  • Own marketing growth plan for Drinking Water business unit and corresponding product categories with insights from product management, channel marketing and sales.
  • Responsible for brand trademark process with business unit.
  • Incorporate competitive positioning into overall strategy, including benchmarks, fighter sheets, new product launch awareness, and market trends.
  • Define key customer persona profiles, including messaging and key performance indicators, with input from channel, vertical and digital marketing.
  • Accountable for new product development launch plan.
  • Set product strategy for Creative team and provide direction on product focus.

Job Requirements

Requirement & Skills:

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in product, channel, or brand marketing, ideally with a focus on product marketing with experience driving go-to-market launches.
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment with engineering, operations, marketing and sales.
  • Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset and ability to influence cross-functionally and upwards, as well as challenge the status-quo.
  • Self-reliant and results oriented; Works independently with minimal direction, driven, high sense of urgency, takes initiative, gets the job done. Deadline oriented.
  • Capacity to lead and motivate others. Understands the strengths and weaknesses of team members and uses that knowledge to motivate them and drive performance. Ability to see and develop potential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills essential to interact effectively with all organization levels.
  • Ability to be a team player. Projects and programs require substantial cross-functional work within the Company.
  • Absorbs information quickly; classical marketing analytic skills, i.e., consumer and market research, along with volume, price and profitability trend analyses, and program-effectiveness evaluations
  • Must be an intent listener and a persuasive communicator. Written communications include recommendation briefs, marketing and capital spending requests, consumer collateral and sales training and presentation tools. Verbal communications include one-on-one and small group discussions, sales meetings, and customer presentations.
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
  • Flexibility: Ability to pivot quickly based on dynamic market changes. Ability to work with changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Constant Contact, Canva and Adobe
  • Travel up to 25%.
