Job Description


Job Summary

The Manager for Public and Foreign Relations is responsible to lead and plan EBA’s external communications and advocacy activities of the Association sharing organisational learning, management and technical excellence with view to strengthen partnership and support capacity building initiatives of the banking industry in Ethiopia, and educating the public through various delivery channels. The Manager is also responsible to establish departmental annual plan and performance report.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops policies and processes which directly contribute to the promotion of the banking services as well as association’s public image;
  • Develops and directs campaigns for the promotion of the association’s policies among member banks and other major stakeholders;
  • Develops a media relations program with appropriate print and broadcast media and range of publications to promote and raise awareness of the banking services and the industry;
  • Develops and maintains effective contacts with a wide range of external bodies to ensure wide publicity and cost-effective support for the association’s initiatives, policies and activities;
  • Designs and facilitates the development of business articles, researches, cases studiers, press releases, etc. for publication to promote the banking business and the image of the association;
  • Keeps abreast of developments within the field of public relations to ensure that the association maintains the highest standards of public relations;
  • Establishes networks and identifies potential partners in the international environment that work for promotion of banking competitiveness in the nation; Prepares proposal that can promote banking industry competitiveness in the nation and submits same to interested partners for financing, as necessary;
  • Mobilizes international banking experts for the purpose of providing banking training to the banking industry;  Performs other duties relevant to building capacity and image of the banking industry in Ethiopia

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor/Master Degree with at least 8 (eight) years for Bachelor’s, or 5 (five) years of direct experiences in the fields in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Communication, Linguistics or in related fields of study and equivalent professional experience;
  • Earnest experience in communications, public relations, advocacy, marketing, or related field of business in commendable business environment;
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including presentations, writing strategies, briefing papers, press releases, use of public and other media, etc.,
  • Competent in planning, budgeting, management and reporting skills
