Job Description


Job Summary: 

The Fleet Management Officer is responsible for overseeing the company’s fleet of vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role involves managing fleet operations, maintenance, procurement, and driver coordination to support our operational objectives and enhance overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Fleet Operations Management: 

Monitor and evaluate the performance of the fleet, ensuring timely availability of vehicles for operational needs.

  • Maintenance Coordination: 

Schedule routine maintenance and repairs, track vehicle maintenance history, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Procurement of Vehicles: 

Assist in the procurement of new vehicles and equipment, including conducting evaluations and budget forecasting.

  • Driver Management: 

Coordinate and supervise fleet drivers, ensuring adherence to driving regulations and company policies; facilitate training and performance evaluations.

  • Cost Management: 

Analyze operational costs and implement cost-saving initiatives for fleet management, including fuel efficiency programs and maintenance optimization.

  • Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of vehicle registrations, inspections, maintenance, and driver logs using fleet management software.

  • Reporting: 

Prepare regular reports on vehicle performance, maintenance costs, and utilization metrics for management review.

  • Compliance: 

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and assist in audits as required.

  • Sustainability Initiatives: 

Advocate for and implement environmentally friendly practices within fleet operations, including exploring alternative fuel options.

About You

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Fleet management or logistics coordination.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in fleet management software.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices, safety regulations, and fleet compliance standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, vendors, and management.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
